Western city of Zugdidi gets updated infrastructure from state programme

Public infrastructure in the western Georgian city of Zugdidi is being renovated under the ongoing Renewed Regions state programme, the Government Administration announced on Tuesday.

The central square and boulevard in the Samegrelo region city are undergoing renovation efforts,  with the fountain in the former location and 20 buildings being updated.

Covering 63 municipalities of Georgia, the initiative involves efforts for renovating urban environments and public facilities, with an approximate cost of ₾500 million (about $188mln) in its first stage.

Urban locations renovated under the projects will create new opportunities for local residents, the Administration said.a
