Luiza Gega Sets New Record in European Athletics Championship

Albania now has a champion who stands at the top of Europe, and she is Luiza Gega, who has grabbed another victory in the European Athletics Championship that is taking place in Poland. The 34-year-old excelled in the 3,000-meter obstacle race, where she took first place, while setting a record time of 9 minutes and 17 seconds. 

This record of Gega has not gone unnoticed by the highest authorities of athletics in Europe, who have appreciated the successive performances of the Albanian, who is currently at the top of Europe. Gega has equalled the records of Ivet Lalova Colio from Bulgaria, who counts 11 victories and 2 second places in European competitions, who has been called the most successful athlete in Europe. 

A few days ago, Gega also won in the 5,000 meters race, while today was the main day for the red and black athlete, who won in her discipline in the 3,000 meters hurdles. Albania has won consecutive medals in recent months, all owned by Gega, where despite the difficulties and challenges, she has managed to raise the Albanian flag.
