The damage suffered days ago had its effects in the official competition held by the athlete Luiza Gega. The Albanian is ranked 8th in the world championship, which is being held in Hungary. The form of the European champion was not the best possible, influenced here by several factors, but she still managed to close the race without going through any penalty.

The time set was 9 minutes, 10 seconds, 27 hundredths, thus ranking in eighth place, but she was able to secure a ticket for the Olympic games that take place in Paris. In the first part of the race, Luiza Gega was fighting against the best athletes of the competition, but then her pace dropped, losing the 7th place by only 1 thousandths.

Yavi from Bahrain was ranked first, followed by the Kenyan duo Chepkoech–Cherotich. Regardless of the ranking, this can be considered a successful race for Luiza Gega, who is the reigning champion of Europe in the 3,000-meter steeplechase race, while aiming for a medal next year at the Olympic Games in Paris. We remember that in this world championship, Albania also competed with the other athlete Franku Burraj, in the 200 meters race.
