President Hage Geingob has expressed sadness at the death of Axali Doëseb, whom he described as a renowned musical composer, conductor, and distinguished figure who played a leading role in the cultural and artistic heritage of Namibia. Doëseb, who composed the nation’s national anthem ‘Namibia, Land of the Brave’, died on Friday at the age of 69. In his message of condolences, President Geingob consoled Doëseb’s wife, Amalia Doëses, his children and his family.
