Keflavík Airport is without hot water due to lava flowing through Njarðvík hot water pipe.

“To date, such a situation has limited impact on the operation of Keflavik Airport but we are following developments closely and are well-prepared if necessary measures are needed, including to deal with possible cooling at the terminal due to shortage of hot water,” Helgason stated.

No Hot Water in Sandgerði, Garður, and the Upper Part of Keflavík

According to him, air carriers and air service companies are well-informed about the situation in the airport so they can take action in their services and in their operational areas at the airport if and when needed.
