Georgian poet Rezo Amashukeli died at the age of 85.
Rezo Amashukeli graduated from the Faculty of Philology of TSU in 1960. His poems and poems have been published since 1957. He published books in 1964, 1967, 1970 and 1974.
In 1968 the Poem "Scream" was awarded the prize of the Communist Party of Georgia. Rezo Amashukeli was the secretary of the Writers' Union of Georgia (1986). In 1988-1989 he was the first deputy chairman of the Shota Rustaveli Society. Deputy Chairman of the Union of Citizens of Georgia (1993). He is an honorary citizen of Tbilisi (2003).
Awarded the Order of Merit (1996). Laureate of the Komsomol of Georgia (1968) and Galaktion Tabidze (1982).
