Cumulus Media’s syndicated Country morning show will be getting a new name as Ty Bentli has exited “The Ty Bentli Show” following this morning’s program for an undisclosed new position outside of radio.
Bentli joined what was then “America’s Morning Show” in September 2016. After being rebranded as “Ty, Kelly & Chuck”, the show became “The Ty Bentli Show” following the departure of Kelly Ford in 2018.
Country artist Chuck Wicks, who has been with all incarnations of the show since its 2013 launch will remain in place as will Tricia ‘TJ’ Jenkins, who joined the show last February. Cumulus has yet to announce further staffing plans for the show.
Prior to joining the show, Bentli worked predominantly in CHR and Hot AC with time in afternoons as “103.5 Kiss-FM” WKSC Chicago and “104.3 My-FM” KBIG Los Angeles and then hosting mornings at “All The Hits 107.3” WRQX Washington DC and “92.3 Now” WNOW-FM New York.
Smart man!!
He knew the right time to abandon the sinking ship. The show just lost its largest market affiliate after the New York station sale (Detroit), and ratings at the flagship in Nashville (103.3 WKDF) have been lagging competitor 98 WSIX more often than not for a while.
No New York + No Detroit = smaller show budget and smaller pay check at contract renewal time.
