Jammu and Kashmir-bred singer-songwriter Kaxi’s music is informed on his own life experiences and are generally themed around feeling hurt and sadness. He says, “Music is a venting outlet for me.” The musician has managed to stick to his formula of songwriting and is now out with his latest single, the acoustic pop-flavored track “heart.”

On the new tune, Kaxi expresses the pain of loving someone else while not managing to love yourself. Having gone through that very situation on multiple occasions, it ended up bothering the artist to the extent of it getting toxic for him. He says, “I was doing this to myself and never realized the pain I was giving to the person I’m with.” Kaxi adds, “The song also talks about being so comfortable and in love with the person that it seemed to be the only way to keep my heart working.”

While Kaxi sings of his agony, he’s backed by a heavily strummed acoustic guitar and electro-pop beats from 16-year-old Gurugram producer RNAQ. Both artists worked on the song over FaceTime exchanges. “There is also an interpolation of the song ‘Heart Like Yours” by Willamette Stone from the movie If I Stay,” says Kaxi.

The musician has been writing plenty of new music recently and is already lining up his next release, a track called “save me” for September in collaboration with Italian artist Federico Martelli aka Addict. Apart from music Kaxi has also been working on himself and “changing for the better.” He says, “I have some more exciting projects dropping [in the pipeline].”
