Rostec Presented an Armored LADA Niva Legend for Evacuation in the Field

Rostec State Corporation has presented LADA Niva Legend 4x4 KUB medical vehicle at the Russian Health Care Week exhibition at Expocentre. The car has a fully armored body and internal elements of special grade steel. Also, it is adapted for off-road driving and designed for transportation and assistance to the wounded or injured in the field.

LADA Niva can evacuate up to four wounded and is integrally armored by Br3 ballistic steel, capable of stopping a 5.45 caliber bullet. Besides the body, the engine shield, fuel tank and battery are protected.

LADA Niva Legend 4x4 KUB interior has 40 mm thick insulated walls and is equipped with air conditioning, which creates comfortable conditions for the team of doctors even when working in extreme hot or cold. The interior of the vehicle is isolated from the driver's cabin, equipped with swivel seats and furniture made of modern polymeric materials that can withstand shock loads up to 10g. Another competitive advantage of special vehicles is the low floor height for an all-wheel drive vehicle, which increases the convenience and efficiency of loading a patient on a gurney into the passenger compartment.

"The conditions of a special military operation pose special challenges to the Russian industry, including the creation of special transport.

The vehicle modification presented at the exhibition is designed to work in the field and is able to make the hard work of military medics safer and more effective," said Oleg Yevtushenko, Rostec’s Executive Director.
