Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has spoken about the interest in Davide Frattesi from AC Milan and the price it will take to secure the Italian midfielder.
Speaking during an interview with Radio Rai (via Milan Eye), the CEO explained that there has not actually been any contact between him and AC Milan for Frattesi so far.
As well as that, he explained that they are more than willing to listen to offers and he thinks that speed will be rewarded, suggesting Milan may need to act fast to get Frattesi into the team.
“Personally I have never met Milan [for Frattesi] but if other teams come to discuss with us we are ready to listen to them. I think who arrives first have more chances to close the deal. Our request remains €40M,” Carnevali said.
Milan have got the economic capacity to make the deal happen very quickly now that they are selling Sandro Tonali to Newcastle, but there are reservations about paying a €40 million fee for Frattesi.
The Rossoneri could try and barter Sassuolo down to a lower price, or they may include either Daniel Maldini or Lorenzo Colombo in the deal.

Milan didn’t think twice selling Tonali but with every incoming transfer there are “reservations” and doubts that last for months and then they realize the mercato is over already. And they didn’t even get to the haggling part yet.
To be fair, if we’ve not made any sort of contact then it might well just be the media making up the entire story because there’s nothing out there. It is possible that Frattesi has never been considered, though sounds unlikely.
