Becoming Waluigi.
Little set up to one of my previous drawing about Waluigi’s origins.
I just like to think that he actually worked really hard on his schema and his new persona. I’m not saying that Wario didn’t helped at it, but I do think that Waluigi at least found most of his new identity himself.

Some time before august, an old pal of mine send me this article from an old Nintendo power magazine who apparently give the actual origins of Waluigi, whose real name isn’t actually “Waluigi”, but Jimmy Poppadopolos !
Long story short : Wario needed a sidekick for the tennis game, ( and he didn’t wanted to take Yoshi ), so he went on a site to hire a guy who would like to become his partner. And that’s pretty much how Waluigi/Jimmy’s appeared in his life. This guy was apparently perfect, both physically and personality. Also because Jimmy was weirdly obsessed with Luigi, both with jealousy and hatred. Becoming his arch-Rival was the best opportunity for him !
( The article didn’t say why, but others source implied that he had a crush on Daisy way before Luigi, and that their relationship has a bad impact on Waluigi. Even if theses two never really noticed him before. )
Some time before Mario Tennis, Jimmy legally changes his name into Waluigi, and became Wario’s main partner. The article even mention a possible relationship between them …? And not a bromance, but like, a real romance ?
Sure, nothing is canon, but Waluigi doesn’t really have an origin story, and most recent source say that Wario and Waluigi aren’t brothers at all ! So, yeah, I kind of like this head canon.

Left: in Super Mario Bros., the camera only moves to the right. As such, if Mario is to the left of the left line, the camera does not move. When he touches the left line, it begins to move but does not match his speed, increasing in speed the closer he is to the right line. Finally, when he touches the right line, the camera matches his speed, preventing him from ever getting further than that point on the screen as long as there is still space for the camera to keep scrolling to the right.
Right: in Super Mario World, the concept is elaborated on in horizontal levels and made double-sided to accommodate both left and right scrolling. Whenever Mario touches a dashed line, the camera moves to align him with the solid line with the same-direction flag (the left solid line when moving right, and vice versa), and keeps up with him as long as he keeps moving.

I cannot get over the skill required here. He has to be able to tell EXACTLY how far apart those sticks are just by holding them between his fingers. He has to generate enough force to make a sound–while HOLDING THEM BETWEEN HIS FINGERS. He is playing FOUR. FOUR sticks. That’s FOUR different sticks, hitting at DIFFERENT times, at space intervals he’s determining by the feel IN HIS FINGERS because he can’t look at all of them at once. And half the time he’s not looking at ANY because he’s smiling at the camera. He twirls and jumps right back in without missing a beat. He’s relaxed. He’s charming.
HE. IS. A. MUSIC. GOD.

he is hella skillful obviously but I do think it’s hilarious that that comment talks about four mallet technique likes it’s not standard marimba/vibes skills
