2019 Hockey East All-Academic Team

2019-20 (Sophomore Season):  Played in 32 games as a sophomore…Matched his rookie point total, putting up 21 points on nine goals and 12 assists…Finished the season with a +9 rating…Had a pair of power play goals and a shorthanded goal…Was seventh on the club in scoring…His nine goals ranked fourth on the team…Had a team-high 13 penalties…Had five multi-point games…Matched his career-long point streak with at least in a point in four-straight from January 11-25, posting two goals with three assists…Had a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win at RPI (Oct. 18)…Scored a goal with an assist in a 6-4 win over Miami at home (Nov. 29)…Scored shorthanded against Dartmouth in the Ledyard Classic (Dec. 29)…Had a goal and in an assist in both ends of a weekend sweep over New Hampshire (Jan. 31 & Feb. 1)…Was a career-best +5 in the 7-4 win at UNH…Had the Huskies lone goal in a 2-1 loss at No. 12 Providence (Jan. 11)…Had a pair of assists in a 3-2 upset at No. 12 Northeastern (Jan. 18).

2018-19 (Freshman Season): Appeared in 32 games as a rookie…Finished the season with 21 points on six goals and 15 assists…His 15 assists sits him fifth among the league’s rookies and second on UConn’s squad while his six goals puts him second for UConn rookies…Four of his 15 assists came on the power play…Generated 54 shots on goal…Finished the season with one game winning goal…Had three multi-point games…Had four games where he scored at least three points…Scored his first collegiate goal when the Huskies took down Army 5-2 in the season opener (Oct. 12)…Had three assists in the 7-4 loss against the Minutemen (Nov. 30)…Had two of the three goals in the 5-3 loss to conference foe Boston College (Feb. 01)…Picked up a goal in the 5-0 Merrimack shutout (Feb. 09)…Picked up three more helpers against Vermont (Mar. 01)…Scored the third goal of the night in the 4-3 victory over the then No. 2 UMass Minutemen (Mar. 08)…Had at least on point from Feb. 01 through Feb. 15 in four games.

In the NHL Draft: Drafted in the 2nd round (43rd overall) by the New York Islanders in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. 

Before UConn: Played for Krasnaya Armiya Moskva in the MHL, the Russian Under-20 League…Appeared in 33 games and scored 30 points, coming on six goals and 24 points…He played for Team Russia U18 and had three goals in five games at the World Junior Championship… In 2016-17, he played for HK Trnava U18 in the Slovakia U18 League, scoring 104 points in 44 games coming on 42 goals and 62 assists…In 2015-16, he split time with Spartak Moskva U16 in Russia, playing 28 games with 11 goals and 19 assists, and HK Trnava where he played six games scoring twice with an assist...Attended Giobus High School.
