HOUSTON, Texas - The Central Washington University men's rugby team wrapped up the Collegiate Rugby Association of America's (CRAA) College Men's Premier 7s National Championships on Saturday, finishing in 7th place.
 
The Wildcats fell to Penn State 10-26 to open the morning and the team's final fixture against Grand Canyon was canceled due to weather.

• "It's a frustrating finish to a tournament that was indicative of our final two months of the season. We continue to take two steps forward followed by a step back so we have much to work on both on and off the field going into next year. Lastly, I want to thank our three graduates on this trip: Mitch, Rhys, and Alex. They have been awesome to work with and watch them take advantage of all the resources we have here at CWU. I cannot wait to see what their futures hold."

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The team's first match of the day against Penn State was to decide whether the Wildcats would compete for 5th/6th place or 7th/8th place. Dalton Musselman of Penn State was a force to be reckoned with, scoring a pair of tries and three conversions.
• Campbell Robb (6th minute) and Alexander Cleary (13th minute) scored tries for the Wildcats, but the team ultimately fell 10-26.
• As a result, the Crimson and Black were sent to the 7th/8th place fixture against Grand Canyon. Unfortunately, a weather delay caused the fixture to get canceled, ending the Wildcat's season.
