‘That is a lie’: Gisele Bundchen says she never cheated on Tom Brady

Gisele Bundchen hit back at reports of infidelity following her 2022 divorce from Tom Brady after 13 years of marriage, and confirmed that she is now in a new relationship.

Gisele Bundchen addressed unsubstantiated rumors that she cheated on ex-husband Tom Brady with four simple words: “That is a lie.”

In an interview with The New York Times, the supermodel and ex-wife of the Patriots legend hit back at the tabloid-style coverage of her and Brady’s marriage, which ended in divorce in 2022.

Bundchen also confirmed that she is now in a new relationship, one she says is “very different” and “very honest.”

In a conversation with writer Mattie Kahn, Gisele discussed what she believed is a double standard women often face, in which they “have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship” and are accused of cheating as a result.

“This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful,” Bundchen said. “They have to deal with their communities. They have to deal with their family. Of course for me, it just happens to be a little bit amplified.”

Since Brady and Bundchen finalized their divorce in October 2022, Bundchen has given a handful of interviews about the pair’s split. She previously described the divorce from Brady as being “very tough” for their family, and told Vanity Fair last year that she and Brady “wanted different things” after 13 years of marriage.

“No one really knows what happens between two people,” Bundchen told the Times. “Only the two people in the relationship.”

Gisele’s new boyfriend?

After splitting up, both Brady and Bundchen have been the subject of tabloid speculation about new relationships.

Rumors that Brady was dating supermodel Irina Shayk first cropped up in July 2023, while Bundchen has consistently been linked with her jiu jitsu instructor, Joaquim Valente.

Bundchen began taking lessons with Valente in December 2021, and the pair were photographed together as early as 2022. Glamour reported that the pair began dating in June 2023 after starting as “great friends.”

Bundchen confirmed to the Times that she is in a new relationship, but did not name her new beau.

“This is the first time I am seeing someone that was a friend of mine first,” Bundchen said. “It’s very different. It’s very honest, and it’s very transparent.”
