Let Me Tell You A Little Something About 'Nukis (WIP)
FINALLY
WE GET TO THE CHUB BOI
THIS is what I was talking about with the tablet giving me nice crisp lines!!
None of that wiggly BS anymore, because it was crushing my self-confidence and making me question if I was actually good at all.
But, I know my art is MUCH neater on paper. I (without bragging) have a talent for having to draw as accurately as possible, as I use a pen. So, a tablet gives me the dexterity and neatness of the pen and the ability to retract mistakes that it disallows.
Having to try and fail to get that same fluidity made me feel like garbage and many times, I considered giving up.
I kept wanting a magical Fursona for a while now. Pierrot is as well, but I meant more of a mythical creature type. I thought of a kitsune, but... THERE ARE SO MANY OF THOSE. SO, SO MANY. So, being the basic b*tch I am, I picked the next best thing: a raccoon-like canid with huge ba-
No, but seriously, these guys are kinda underutilized? And, rarely seen outside of Japan. ...and not localized as "Raccoons". π€¦ (Poor Tom Nook.)
I was tempted to make him after seeing Tanya Keys in Mao Mao and later, Michiru just cemented it. π©
When designing him originally, he had floppy ears and was more fluffy. This was because I wanted to make him a Tanuki/Briard hybrid. Instead, because I later hated that idea, I just got those gloves from Danny Phantom and split the two of them into separate characters. During the split, he liked the idea of having a fau and kept it. Stubborn little bastard. (Wait.)
I went all out and researched them, only to be lazy and make him the typical generic Tom Nook-like one. XD
(I have a reason for this: He's a magical Bake-danuki and that's what they look like. Regular Tanukis look like... Regular tanukis. It's a quick way to tell if he's pretending to be feral. Well, err, outside of, you know.)
What? I didn't slap a generic hoodie or open shirt on him?? It's just a cute leaf hat and cape??? WHAT IS THIS SORCERY?!
My favorite things about him are his ability to pos- "overshadow" people whenever he wants (you know I'm going to abuse that power π) and the transforming thing. I LOVE shapeshifters! I can just imagine him repeatedly screwing around with people's heads by changing into random stuff...
This is type of trickster character I've been wanting for years! >:D
...
B-but, of course, I'd use my powers responsibly with actually bad people, of course... ^^;
(I was trying to determine if he fly or not? That'd be cute.)
At first, I honestly wasn't sure if I liked him or not. Having a canine, but non-canine-looking character is just a bit jarring... But, the liveliness of this picture + the color made him seem more... real. And, I fell in love with him.
...yep, I've gone full weeb.
