Mansur Gavriel
Instagram
Bumble and Bumble hairstylist Laurent Philippon is the man you can blame for bringing back the scrunchie on the Mansur Gavriel runway. “When I heard scrunchie, I was like, ‘Ahhhhhhh!’ It is my nightmare,” Philippon told The Cut. “But actually no. It’s done in a very cool way.” The hair was kept low and loose, with an air-dried texture that is undeniably cool. And the scrunchies—done in prints and periwinkle—are made of vintage Italian fabric. They'll be sold for the price of $35 at the brand's NYC store starting tomorrow, should you dare to wear them.

Tom Ford
LAUNCHMETRICS SPOTLIGHT
Backstage at Tom Ford, hairstylist Orlando Pita and his team were in a frenzy pinning all the models ' hair up and off their necks, to give the illusion of short, shaggy cuts. Hair was twisted and coiled on the scalp and pinned into place with countless bobby pins. Why not just use short wigs? "Wigs are tired," says Pita. The more you know! "It's giving women the option to have short hair for the night without cutting it off," he says.

Once the hair was blown stick-straight, hairstylist Justine Marjan split hair horizontally and applied a shine-boosting serum. She pulled the top-half into a ponytail and then gathered the bottom half together. She then twisted the tail into a chignon and pinned it in place toward the front of the head.
