"Akhali" party: Our choice is Georgia's accession to the European Union, which the ruling party is blocking and with its own decisions makes impossible the fulfillment of the historical aspiration of the Georgian people

Our choice is to join Georgia in the European Union, which the ruling party is blocking and making it impossible to fulfill this historical aspiration of the Georgian people with its own decisions, - this is stated in the information released by the "Akhali" party.

The party explains that at this historical moment, change must become the top priority of each of us.

"On March 22, 2024, the European Commission's spokesperson for foreign and security policy, Peter Stano, said that the integrity check of judges is a prerequisite for the start of accession negotiations.

Instead of taking a step against the government, the Prime Minister of Georgia again stated that the issue for "Georgian Dream" is closed and the ruling party does not intend to carry out necessary reforms on the way to joining the European Union. Also, today, the judicial clan sanctioned at the conference of judges repeated one by one the disinformation messages of the ruling party in order to discredit the reforms determined by the European Commission. This means openly rejecting the European choice of the Georgian people.

The European Union is a civilizational unity based on values, responsibilities and obligations. Unlike Russia, it perceives other states as equal partners and respects people's choices. Our choice is Georgia's accession to the European Union, which the ruling party is blocking and making it impossible to fulfill this historic aspiration of the Georgian people with its own decisions.

That is why, now, at this historic moment, change must become a top priority for each of us. A change that will bring multi-party democratic governance and make Georgia a full-fledged member of the European Union, which for each of us means prosperity, a safe environment, solid and eternal guarantees of happiness and peace," the statement said.
