❇️It was a great pleasure for me to participate in a meeting with young people interested in the topic of "women and war." I was given the opportunity to speak about 'the invisible dimensions of the impact and consequences of war and protracted conflicts on women and girls,' drawing entirely on my personal and professional experiences and observations. 💙I genuinely believe that the youth and the new generation will be direct participants in transformative activism. I hope, despite the challenges that our country is facing, including the problems caused by wars and conflicts, they will always find the strength to fight and act for building and creating a better, non-violent, peaceful, and developed country!

Juneteenth represents freedom, liberation, and the relentless pursuit of equality. It is a day to recognize the ongoing fight against systemic racism. Today, let us reflect on the progress made, while acknowledging the work that still lies ahead. It is an opportunity to stand in solidarity, to amplify diverse voices, and to actively contribute to a more inclusive and just society. May this Juneteenth inspire conversations, foster empathy, and ignite positive change. Together, let's continue the journey towards equality, unity, and the celebration of our shared humanity. #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #EqualityForAll #WomenInHealthcare

SDG16, the forgotten SDG that matters most today - Peace Justice and Strong institutions, a Global Goal meant for all but a few? Maybe. Sustainability is a systemic discipline - Education, climate, gender equality, peace, poverty, access to medicine are all linked. How can we end climate change if we dont understand that oil is underpriced? How can we achieve gender equality if data is hidden? How can we garanty peace if inequality is the rule? How can we fight poverty if supply chains are broken? How can we be at peace if our neighbors are in suffering? It is all linked, all. In a systemic approach, the focus keeps changing. Yesterday it was health, today it is peace, tomorrow climate and so on. Oil prices are soaring, inflation is soaring, insecurity is soaring. What is failing? Oil pricing, corporate governance, dollar hegemony, peace processes, UN security council, EU for a start, maybe. It looks like XXth century constructions are falling appart and we are collectively failling to build new ones. https://lnkd.in/eBTnKPRv #peace

In 2012, when the United Nations declared October 11 International Day of the Girl Child, it was to acknowledge the worldwide barriers girl children face. We know those barriers can be especially challenging for Black girls in the Southeastern U.S. Today we acknowledge systemic barriers that shouldn’t be and the spirit of resistance girls across the globe show despite what they may be facing. Indigenous voices belong in the halls of power and MADRE is making it happen. We connect with Indigenous women and girls to bring their voices to global peace- and decision-making spaces. Your support provides us with the resources to organize delegations that get the message of women and girl organizers to center stage. We recently hosted Indigenous leaders at the United Nations where they called on the world's governments to prioritize the rights and safety of Indigenous Peoples — especially Indigenous women and girls and Indigenous persons with disabilities — in all actions against the climate crisis When you give today, you double your impact and help fuel more opportunities to strengthen movements for justice worldwide: https://bit.ly/3DfMKAt
