IESO Engagement Program... Interview

ETSG is pleased to have received contact by a representative of IESO for the purpose or reviewing the stakeholders engagement and market renewal process. ETSG received a call yesterday and was more than pleased to spend the 15-20 minutes spent to discuss and review the way in which our company is involved in with IESO. I found it impressive and progressive that the system operator considers their efforts and the way in which they engage all who are involved in the electrical energy sector in Ontario. This is a valuable and important aspect of renewal and show that IESO has their "hand on the pulse".

I provided feedback and scored the various topics and processes that IESO utilizes to improve how Ontarios market is managed. The person I spoke with was polite personable and patient as we went through the multitude of questions being asked. What is most impressive is that IESO would take the time to look at their initiatives from the perspective of a company like ETSG. It shows a true intent to make all who are affected by the energy sector and the rules and regulations in Ontario, a part of the solution.

My hat's off to IESO for another impressive step towards advancing the market here in Ontario. Having recently visited the USA and having discussed how Ontario's IESO is involved in conservation and what is being done with the "prosumer concept" and how our bulk network is being re-invented through distributed generation, I am proud to say we are not only ahead of the curve, but possibly at the tip of the arrow, when it comes to being involved in a fair, transparent progressive electrical system! With the Long Term Energy Plan (LTEP) on the horizon, it is exciting to know that others in North America are envious of what we are doing here in Ontario. In this challenging time, when energy matters more than ever and green energy is paramount. It is great to know the IESO here in Ontario considers experts like ETSG important to what is unfolding and how they plan to "Power Tomorrow".
