Tina Fey's Super Bowl Commercial Was a Mini 30 Rock Reunion

Jane Krakowski! Jack McBrayer! ...Glenn Close?!

By Christopher Rudolph

Millions tuned into the Super Bowl on February 11 to watch the actual game, Taylor Swift, Usher's Halftime show, and of course, the star-studded commercials.

There were ads for upcoming blockbusters like Wicked and Twisters, and Beyoncé once again broke the internet by announcing her new album and surprise-dropping two new tracks. But for comedy fans, Tina Fey's Booking.com commercial featuring an unexpected 30 Rock reunion was a standout.

Over the years, 30 Rock has joined the pantheon of comfort shows like The Golden Girls, Friends, and Gilmore Girls. So seeing the actors reunite feels like running into old friends — even if it's in a commercial for a travel website.

The ad opens with Fey relaxing on vacation in a seaside villa. Looking at her phone, she remarks: "With so many choices on Booking.com, there are so many Tina Feys I could be. So I hired body doubles to help me out."

A montage of different Tinas follows, including Jane Krakowski — as 30 Rock's Jenna Maroney, let's be real — dressed as "Splurgy Tina" carrying various shopping bags, who "loves a hotel near Rodeo Drive."

Next, viewers are whisked away to a Wyoming cabin where Jack McBrayer (who played NBC page Kenneth Parcell on 30 Rock) is brushing the luscious locks of "Rustic Tina" a.k.a Bigfoot Tina.

The commercial gets even more absurd as we're introduced to another body double, "Wild Tina," played by stage and screen legend Glenn Close. In the extended version of the ad there are even more Tina body doubles, with the real Fey even confronting Close, who she refers to as her "nemesis."

The idea of Fey needing body doubles is a real one, since she's booked and busy these days. Last month, the musical remake of Mean Girls hit theaters, then it was announced that she will be starring in a new Netflix series, The Four Seasons, and Girls5Eva, which she executive produces, returns to the streamer for a new season in March.

30 Rock wasn't the only NBC sitcom to have a reunion during this year's Super Bowl. Friends stars Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer appeared together for Uber Eats, while Aubrey Plaza and Nick Offerman, from Parks and Recreation, reunited — riding dragons?! — for Mountain Dew Baja Blast.

While you might not be able to hire your own body doubles, all of the beautiful vistas in the 30 Rock Booking.com commercial will make you say, "I want to go to there."
