Biography: Liam Payne is an English singer who came to fame as a member of One Direction alongside Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik. The group were an all-time best-selling boy band prior to their indefinite hiatus in 2016.
Payne joined the group during The X Factor, in which he was put together with four other contestants and the group went on to come third in the show. They were then signed to Simon Cowell's record label and released their debut single, "What Makes You Beautiful," in 2011, which was soon followed by their debut album, Up All Night.
Since One Direction, Payne has also had a successful solo career. He released "Strip That Down" in 2017, which went on to be a hit single, charting at number three in the United Kingdom and number ten in the United States. This was followed by his debut solo album, LP1 (2019).
