Angelina Jolie Hinted That Her Acting Career May Take a Total 180 Soon

Despite being a staple in Hollywood for decades, it seems Angelina Jolie may have something else in mind. As of Dec 2023, she has five projects in the works, such as Maude v Maude, Maria, Maleficent 3, Every Note Played, and Kung Fu Panda 4. But it seems that while she has a jam-packed schedule, she has her eyes on leaving it all behind as soon as she can.

In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, the Oscar-winning actress called out the “unhealthy” scene in Los Angeles has become, and how her plans to travel out of the acting scene may happen as soon as she can.

“It’s part of what happened after my divorce – I lost the ability to live and travel as freely. I will move when I can,” the Salt star said about moving to Cambodia in the future. “I grew up in quite a shallow place. Of all the places in the world, Hollywood is not a healthy place. So you seek authenticity.”

Now, you may be wondering: what do you mean she “lost the ability” to travel? Well, it has everything to do with her ongoing, messy divorce from Brad Pitt. Because of the court battle, she can’t move yet (and to be fair, she may wait until all of her children are out doing their own things in the world). But a no-Hollywood Jolie may be in the future, where she lives her own life by her own rules.

For those who don’t know, Jolie and Pitt started dating in 2005 and married in 2014. They divorced in 2016, and have since been in a lengthy divorce proceeding over the custody of their six kids and properties.
