During the promotions of Ram Leela, when Ranveer was asked to comment about his co-star Deepika, the actor had said, ‘’Humari Deepikaji ko dekh lo, kya physical appearance hai. Jab aati hainscreen pe, aur kuch dikhta hi nahi hai. To get attention in the frame, I had to take off my shirt, put in all this energy, change my look, but I used to tell her when we watched the scenes on the monitor that she is so visually stunning that the eye keeps going only to her. I can keep doing whatever hell I want, but when I watch it, I don’t look at myself, I only look at her.’’

When asked about their chemistry in the songs, Ranveer had said, ‘’Such chemistry is only destiny. Our energies from the beginning were in tandem. I knew she will be easy to work with, but you can’t get your eyes off the screen when you are looking at her. I love what I see. I only watch Deepika when I see the monitor.’’

Currently, Ranveer and Deepika are gearing up for the promotions of his movie, Padmavati. The movie also stars Shahid Kapoor in the lead role.

When a leading entertainment magazine asked Ranveer what it was like to play an antagonist in Padmavati, the actor revealed, "I’m s**t scared. I’m playing an anti-hero. Only when I see the film, will I be able to assess my character. It’s a risky move for me. That’s why I took so much time to sign it. For a mainstream leading man to make a choice like this at this stage is dicey. It’s a despicable character. He’s mean. One of my seniors, and who I believe is one of the greatest actors of all time, advised me to be careful. She told me the Indian audience is naïve. If they love a character, the love will transfer to the actor who played it. In this case, if they hate my character, the hate will be transferred to me.”

Padmavati is slated to release on December 1, 2017.
