A lot of functions not available in Samsung magician, in fact the only thing you can do is view drive information and run a benchmark

Using as a C Drive running CrystalDiskMark Im seeing

Was expecting more on the write speeds to be honest, the 970 Evo has faster write speeds,

for reference above was on my 5800x with a B550 Gaming Gaming Edge in the top slot as C.
below is my partners 5600x with 970 evo Plus, same Motherboard, in its top slot as C

Thats Gen 3.0 x4 vs Gen 4.0, if you want to write big files Id see how the non OEM SSDs Perform, but for my general home use I cant really complain it is super fast

The disk does what a 980 Pro does without any of the comfort features.
BUT!

If you need Gen4 speeds, buy a disk that uses the Phison E18 controller and 176-Layer NAND, like the Corsair MP600 XT Pro or the Seagate FireCuda 530. They are faster and better than the current real 980 Pro or the PM9A1.

My PM9A1 started failing after one year of use at around 24 TBW. Probably just bad luck that could happen to any disk, but the problem here is that no software picked up the failing sectors early (by S.M.A.R.T.). The disk went into read-only mode at 8% unrecoverable damaged sectors. I managed to recover and backup most of my data to another drive via Hiren's BootCD. But after an attempt to format the disk, it fully died and didn't show up in BIOS anymore.
If you use this disk, monitor drive health and have a backup schedule.

A bit feature stripped compared to the direct competitor 980 pro.
Only get this if it is cheaper and you feel confident sourcing the samsung drivers/firmware online for this. It does not have same support as standard 980 pro.
I have only used this in pcie3 slot using adapter to M.2
Speeds are constrained by motherboard not drive.
Note that it is heavily discouraged to route this through your PCH as you will likely stumble into severe bottlenecks. Pcie 3.0 to CPU is also a bottleneck but it's okay.
