Good spice, lackluster plot

Got this for a book club read. It has some good spice to it, but overall this book has too much dialogue and not enough world building. It feels very undeveloped. The plot goes too quickly without much descriptions of well…everything. I never felt like a had a fully painted picture of anything or anyone at any point in the book. Characters don’t feel fully formed which means it’s difficult to have any real attachment to them. Overall if you want a spicy book it’s fine for that, but wouldn’t recommend otherwise.

This was a fun continuation in the world KM created in her Kingdom of the Wicked trilogy (that followed the Prince of Wrath). If you're not familiar with the earlier books, I would start there. These are definitely spicy fantasy novels, and I felt the heat kicked up a notch in Throne of the Fallen. We follow the story of the Prince of Envy in this book and his quest to break a curse. The plot keeps me turning the page as the story is compelling and entertaining. The characters are interesting and engaging, and I am looking forward to reading about Gluttony in the next book - which comes out late Oct 2024.
Would recommend, 5 out of 5 for me.

I loved this books so much! Envy and Camilla have to be one of my favorite relationships. I love the FMCs Will to never let Envy affect her the way he wanted, she always surprised him and myself. Also the quest and underworld was so amazing, the authors writes scenes so very well that I feel like I'm there. Also this has to be of the best hardbacks I've ever own, the pages stayed open in any part of the book and chapter designs were so pretty.

I love love Kerri Maniscalco and her works. When seller informed me the book was in stock I immediately purchased. You can read this as standalone, or you can read it as a continuation of her previous books (kingdom of the wicked series and throne series)

Also kudos to seller for wrapping the book for extra safety.
