I highly recommend the audiobook, as it is beautifully narrated by Sharon herself- and you can hear the passion & emotion in her voice as she retells their stories, and her love for America when she recites the anthem "America the Beautiful". This book will inspire you to do what you can, with what you have, where you are to make change for the better.

Sharon's gift of storytelling is truly an art form! She has a unique way of weaving stories together that makes the past come to life! I have been looking forward to reading this book for a very long time and it did not disappoint my expectations!

Sharon's ability to express genuine awe and wonder of what makes America beautiful while not shying away from the ugly parts of our nation's past is a refreshing find!

I love Sharon McMahon and I love her new book, which just happens to be #1 on the NYT beseller for hardback in the history category! Even if you're a person who isn't interested in history, I think you'll enjoy this book. It has inspired me to make a difference where I am, with what small thing I might have to offer. It is so hopeful in these divided times. It is so refreshing to realize that small, ordinary people can shape the character of our nation.

I've been a fan of Sharon McMahon for quite some time now, and she did NOT disappoint in her first foray into authorship!! This book is for EVERYONE!! She presents facts in such a compelling, real voice, and at the same time gently reminds us that, we too, have the ability, and dare I say imperative "to do the next needed thing" and that even seemingly small actions from quiet citizens can bring about mighty, and oftentimes necessary change!
